Team Rosberg with a young combo

Team Rosberg will run one of the youngest driver combinations in this years ADAC GT Masters.

After a 7-year break from the series, the team has opted to return with two Lamborghini Huracan GT3 cars.

Team owner Keke Rosberg had plenty of chances to sign with some big names for the team, but he has instead chosen to go for something Nordic and something central-European, with some of the fastest talents in the junior classes.

Youngest driver will be Jonathan Judek at just 18 years old. He drove for the Attempto team during the 2017 season in a Lamborghini. The German will be teammate with the Swede Jimmy Eriksson.

Jimmy is the older brother of the BMW factory driver Joel, and even though he showed good speed in both GP3 and GP2, his age unfortunately counted against him regarding a Formula 1 seat. So he chose to go for the Blancpain GT Series in 2017, finishing third in the Endurance Cup.

Aaro Vainio, aged 24, will be the oldest member in the other car. The Finn was a race winner in GP3, but the career was put on pause, when he didn’t have enough sponsorship to bring him into GP2 or other series. After a 4 year break, he returned in the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo – Super GT Cup 2017, where he won the Championship in a Lamborghini Huracan.

He will share the car with Italian Michele Beretta. He is a Lamborghini Junior Driver, and even though he is only 23 years old, he has managed to win two GT Championhips already. In 2016 he won the Blancpain GT Series – Sprint Cup Silver Cup, while he grabbed the Italian GT Championship Super GT3 Pro last year. He has already had a brief taste at the ADAC GT Masters, running for GRT Grasser Racing Team at the Red Bull Ring rounds in 2016.

Team boss Arno Zensen has a lot of confidence in all four drivers, but knows very well that the 35 other competitors won’t make this a walk-over. But as the defending DTM Champion for Audi Sport, the team has all the knowledge to mix up in the top here too.

The ADAC GT Masters 2018 starts on 13-15 April in Oschersleben.
